Buildertrend alternatives in 2026 for small remodelers and builders

The ServFlo team

Buildertrend is a full construction management platform for home builders and remodelers, with estimating, takeoff, bids, purchase orders, warranties and a subcontractor portal. It is a strong choice for a builder running many complex, multi-phase jobs. Smaller remodelers and contractors often look elsewhere because they want to see a price before a sales call, they don't use most of the platform, or they also run service calls and want one system for both.

This guide covers five alternatives, what each one charges and the kind of contractor it suits. Every fact was checked on the vendor's own pages in November 2026. Where a vendor does not publish prices, we say so. We make ServFlo, and it is on this list. We've tried to be fair, including where Buildertrend or another tool is the better fit.

Key takeaways

  • Buildertrend does not publish prices. Its pricing page offers a custom quote after a call, with unlimited users and unlimited projects.
  • JobTread, Contractor Foreman, Houzz Pro and ServFlo publish prices. Procore prices by your annual construction volume, by quote.
  • CoConstruct is not a separate alternative anymore: its site says its users are moving to Buildertrend.
  • How each tool counts your crew matters as much as the base price. The worked example below shows the spread.
  • If you need takeoff, bid packages, warranty claims and a sub portal with logins in one construction system, Buildertrend or JobTread will cover more than ServFlo.

What does Buildertrend cost?

Buildertrend does not publish prices. As of November 2026, its pricing page asks a few questions about your business and offers a custom quote on a call. It says the subscription includes unlimited users, unlimited projects, its core set of tools and support resources, with a discount for paying annually upfront.

Third-party sites quote a range of numbers, but none of them can be confirmed on Buildertrend's own page, so we don't repeat them here. Ask for a written quote that lists what's included. Source: Buildertrend pricing.

Is CoConstruct still a Buildertrend alternative?

No. CoConstruct and Buildertrend are now one company, and CoConstruct's own site says its "transition to Buildertrend is entering its final phase," urging existing users to move. A new customer looking at CoConstruct today is effectively looking at Buildertrend. Source: CoConstruct.

What would a small remodeler pay on each tool?

Here is a worked example using published monthly prices as of November 2026: a remodeler with 2 office people and 6 crew who clock their time, 8 people in all. That team is $249/month on ServFlo Grow, $339/month on JobTread and $199/month on Contractor Foreman Plus. Buildertrend and Procore would need a quote.

SoftwarePlan for 2 office + 6 crewMonthly price
ServFloGrow (3 office users, crew free)$249
JobTread8 internal users ($199 + 7 × $20)$339
Contractor ForemanPlus (up to 8 users)$199
Houzz ProTeams (5 users) + 3 × $50, if all 8 log in$549
BuildertrendCustom quote, unlimited usersNot published
ProcoreQuote by annual construction volumeNot published

This is an example, not a quote. JobTread doesn't charge for crew who only upload photos, log daily notes or view their schedule, so a crew that doesn't clock in costs less there. Houzz Pro's price depends on who on your crew needs a login. The tools also differ a lot in what they include, so compare features before price.

The alternatives in detail

ServFlo

Price: Core $49/month, Connect $129, Grow $249, Pro $449, as of November 2026. Projects are included on Grow and Pro. Crew and technicians are unlimited on every plan; Grow includes 3 office users and Pro 5, then $35/month per extra office user.

ServFlo is field service software with projects built in. Any job can be marked as a project and gets phases on a timeline with crews and subs, change orders the customer signs on a link or in their portal, budget vs actual by cost category with the projected margin, subcontractors with their insurance, license and W-9 dates, daily logs with the weather filled in, selections against an allowance and a files area. When a change order is signed, the contract, budget and schedule update. Project phases put visits on the same dispatch board as your service calls, and crews log time and daily logs from the ServFlo Tech app. Flo, the AI assistant, is included on Grow and Pro.

Where Buildertrend is stronger: ServFlo has no takeoff, RFIs, submittals, AIA pay applications, warranty claims or sub logins (subs get a view-only link), and purchase orders are on Pro only. See projects and ServFlo vs Buildertrend.

JobTread

Price: $199/month with 1 internal user, then $20/month for users 2 to 10, $15 for 11 to 20, $10 for 21 to 30 and $5 above that. The annual plan saves 20% ($159/month base, billed yearly). Customer, sub and vendor portal users are free, and so are field crew who only upload photos, log notes or view schedules and tasks. There is no free trial; monthly plans have a 30-day money-back guarantee and no contract. Source: JobTread pricing.

JobTread puts every feature in one plan: estimating, takeoff, budgets and job costing, change orders, AIA pay applications, portals for customers, subs and vendors, and warranty management. It is the closest match to Buildertrend's depth with a price on the page. ServFlo is the better fit if you also run service calls or memberships and want crew who clock time to be free. See ServFlo vs JobTread.

Contractor Foreman

Price: Basic $49/month billed annually only (1 user); Standard $139/month (up to 3 users); Plus $199/month (up to 8); Pro $279/month (up to 15); Unlimited $399/month (unlimited users), billed monthly. Annual billing costs less and starts with a 30-day free trial. Plus and above carry a money-back guarantee. Source: Contractor Foreman pricing.

Contractor Foreman says it is "created for small and medium sized residential and commercial trade and general contractors." It lists a long feature set: estimates, takeoffs, change orders, bid management, daily logs, punchlists, time cards, submittals, purchase orders, job costing, service tickets and work orders, with QuickBooks and Gusto integrations. A fit for a budget-minded contractor who wants a broad construction toolkit and a fixed company price.

Houzz Pro

Price: Pro $199/month (1 user) and Teams from $399/month (5 users), with added users at $50/user/month; Enterprise is quoted. A 30-day free trial leads into an annual subscription, and a free basic plan is available. Advertising packages are separate, from $499/month. Source: Houzz Pro pricing.

Houzz Pro lists estimates, takeoffs, invoices and online payments, 3D floor plans, selections, bid management and budget management, with email marketing and a custom website on Teams. A fit for remodelers and design-build firms that get leads through Houzz and sell with 3D plans.

Procore

Price: not published. Procore's pricing page says it charges "an upfront annual fee by product and based upon your Annual Construction Volume," and that it will "never charge you for adding more users." Source: Procore pricing.

Procore is construction management for owners, general contractors and specialty contractors, with products for project execution, cost management and resource management, and AI agents for tasks such as drafting RFIs and reviewing submittals. It is built for larger and commercial projects. Most small remodelers will find it more than they need, but it is the stronger choice once RFIs and submittals are a daily part of the work.

Which Buildertrend alternative is best for a remodeler who also does service calls?

ServFlo is built for that mix. A project in ServFlo is a kind of job, so remodel phases, service visits, memberships and invoices share one dispatch board, one pricebook and one customer record. Construction-only tools like Buildertrend and JobTread don't list service-call dispatch or memberships beside projects.

That matters for a remodeler who also does repair work, a builder with a warranty and service crew, or a trade contractor that runs both installs and service. See how it fits on our general contractor and remodeling pages.

How do you choose a Buildertrend alternative?

Start with the jobs you run, not the feature list. A two-crew kitchen and bath remodeler, a custom home builder and a commercial GC need different tools.

  1. Size your projects. Many multi-month builds with dozens of subs point to Buildertrend, JobTread or Procore. Shorter remodels and additions fit lighter tools.
  2. Decide who logs in. Count office staff, crew who clock time and subs. Each tool counts them differently.
  3. List the must-haves. Takeoff, AIA pay applications, sub logins and warranty claims narrow the list quickly.
  4. Check the customer side. Look at how change orders get signed and what the customer portal shows.
  5. Run a live project. Put one real job, with its change orders and daily logs, through a trial.

Switching from Buildertrend

Export your customers, job sites, open invoices and cost items as CSV or Excel files before you cancel, and keep copies of plans, contracts and photos. Start your open projects in the new tool and finish closed ones where they are. ServFlo imports spreadsheets with a preview before anything is saved, and its remodeling, general contractor and roofing templates give you phases and budget lines to start from.

You can see every comparison side by side on our alternatives page.

The right Buildertrend alternative depends on how big your projects are and whether you also run service work. If you're a small remodeler or contractor who wants projects and service calls in one place at a published price, ServFlo's free 14-day trial lets you run a real project before you decide.
