How much does an AI receptionist cost?
$99 a month or $990 a year, on top of the phone system at $49 a month or $490 a year, which includes your first local number. Its speech recognition and voice are $0.024 a minute (cost plus 20%), the call itself is billed as call minutes, and its replies use your plan's AI credits. The 14-day free trial includes 30 AI receptionist minutes.
Will callers know they're talking to an AI?
Yes. It never pretends to be a person. The greeting can say "I'm the virtual assistant", callers always hear that the call is transcribed, and if anyone asks, it says it's your business's AI assistant.
Can an AI receptionist book appointments?
Yes, if you use online booking with arrival windows. It offers open windows from your online booking rules, reads the details back, and books only after the caller says yes. Known customers can move a visit to another open window once it has checked who they are. Without arrival windows, it takes a request for your team to schedule.
Does it give prices over the phone?
Only if you allow it. Choose never, 'starting at' prices from your pricebook (the technician confirms the final price), or exact pricebook prices. If nothing in your pricebook matches, it says your team will quote. It never says your costs or margins.
What does it do with an emergency call?
For a gas smell, carbon monoxide, flooding, sparks or fire, it gives safety advice first, then offers to transfer the caller to your team. Choose a ring group or a phone number for transfers; with neither, it takes a message.
Do I need a separate phone provider?
No. ServFlo provides the numbers, minutes and texts and bills usage monthly with your subscription, at our carrier's cost plus 20%: in the US, $0.0102 a minute for inbound calls and $0.0168 a minute for outbound. You can keep your own Twilio account instead.
