ServFlo vs Buildertrend

A Buildertrend alternative with prices you can see

Buildertrend quotes every business separately. ServFlo publishes its plans, and projects with change orders, budgets, subs, daily logs and selections are on Grow and Pro.

The short version

Buildertrend is a full construction management platform for home builders and remodelers running many multi-phase builds, with estimating, takeoff, bids, purchase orders, warranties and a sub portal. ServFlo suits contractors and remodelers who also run service work: it adds projects (phases, change orders, budget vs actual, subcontractors, daily logs and selections) to a field service app with a dispatch board, memberships and a published price from $249 a month.

The short answer

Is there a Buildertrend alternative with published pricing for small remodelers?

Yes. ServFlo publishes its plans at $49–$449 a month, and projects with change orders, budget vs actual, subcontractors, daily logs and selections are on Grow and up (from $249 a month). Buildertrend does not publish prices; it gives a custom quote after a call, with unlimited users. Buildertrend goes deeper on construction, with takeoff, purchase orders and warranties in every subscription.

Why teams switch

Why choose ServFlo over Buildertrend

A price you can see before a sales call

ServFlo publishes its plans: projects are on Grow and up, from $249 a month, with a 14-day trial you can start today.

Projects and service calls in one place

A remodel is a job marked as a project, so your crews' project days and your service visits share one dispatch board, one pricebook and one set of invoices.

Change orders that update everything

When the customer signs a change order, the contract, the budget, the target end date and the progress billing all follow. A selection over its allowance becomes a change order on its own.

Crews are never counted

Technicians and crew are free on every plan. Grow includes 3 office users; extra office users are $35 a month each.

When Buildertrend may be the better fit

Buildertrend is the better fit for a home builder or remodeler running many complex, multi-phase builds who needs estimating with takeoff, bid packages, purchase orders, warranty claims, a sub portal with logins and lead and email marketing in one construction-specific system. ServFlo leaves out RFIs, submittals, AIA pay applications, takeoff and paying subs from the app.

Switching

Moving from Buildertrend

  1. 1

    Import your Buildertrend data

Export your customers, contacts, job sites and open invoices from Buildertrend as CSV or Excel, then export and upload your files to ServFlo under Other spreadsheet. It recognizes the columns it knows, AI maps the rest, and you see a preview before anything is saved. ServFlo has no ready-made Buildertrend format, so check the mapping. Undo is there for 7 days.

  2. 2

    Bring in your pricebook

Import your cost items and services from a spreadsheet. The CSV import checks every row first and shows what it will change before anything is saved.

  3. 3

Set up project templates and subs

Start from the remodeling, general contractor or roofing templates, edit the phases and budget lines, and add your subcontractors with their insurance, license and W-9 dates.

  4. 4

    Start your active projects

Mark each open job as a project, pick a template and start date, and add its remaining change orders, selections and files. Your crew installs the ServFlo app and logs days from their phone.

ServFlo vs Buildertrend questions

Something else on your mind? Ask us and a person will answer.

How much does Buildertrend cost per month?

Buildertrend does not publish prices. Its pricing page asks a few questions about your business and offers a custom quote on a call, with 10% off when you pay annually upfront (checked November 2026). ServFlo's plans are $49–$449 a month, and projects start on Grow at $249 a month.

Does ServFlo have change orders and selections like Buildertrend?

Yes. Change orders are signed by the customer on a link or in their portal, and the contract, budget and schedule update when they approve. Selections have an allowance, options with prices and photos, and a pick over or under the allowance becomes a change order for the difference.

Can my subcontractors log in to ServFlo?

Not with their own login. ServFlo gives each sub a view-only link with the project's address, their phases and dates, and the files you shared with subs, never prices or your customer's details. You track their papers, bids, bills, payments and lien waivers in ServFlo.

Is ServFlo good for a remodeler who also does service calls?

That is what it is built for. A project is a kind of job, so service visits, project phases, memberships and invoices share one dispatch board and one pricebook. Crews are unlimited on every plan.

What does Buildertrend have that ServFlo does not?

Buildertrend's pricing page lists takeoff, bills and purchase orders, warranties, a sub portal, lead management, email marketing and a Gusto connection. ServFlo has purchase orders on Pro, but no takeoff, RFIs, submittals, AIA pay applications or sub logins.
