Dumpsters and projects on your phone

Run a dumpster rental or remodeling business from the truck, and still do your own stops and daily logs.

Owners, admins and dispatchers can run dumpster rentals and projects from ServFlo Tech in office mode, not only from the web. What shows follows your plan and your role's permissions. These screens need signal.

Open them from Today (Dumpsters, Projects) or from More → Dumpsters and projects.

Dumpsters

The fleet

Dumpsters shows, for each size, how many dumpsters are Available, Held for a rental, On site, Full and At the dump. Tap a number to see those dumpsters. Tap one to move it by hand (for example Full when the customer calls, or back In the yard), or to open its rental. Out longest lists the dumpsters that have been out the most days, and how many days past pickup. Map shows the dumpsters on site: blue on site, amber full.

Book a rental

Customer and job site

Search for the customer or tap New customer. Pick the job site, or add a new address.

Dates and size

Pick the drop-off day and the rental length. Each size shows how many are free for those days. The price for the days comes from the size's price; extra days and tons are billed when the rental closes.

Placement and driver

Write where to put it and, if you like, take a photo of the spot. Pick the driver; if you drive yourself, tap Me.

Book and take a deposit

Tap Book rental. When there is an up-front bill, tap Take payment now to take a deposit or the full amount with the usual payment screen (card, Tap to Pay, cash or check).

If no dumpster of that size is free, the app says so. You can still book it with Book it anyway.

Rentals

Rentals sorts every open rental into lists:

ListWhat's in it
Needs a dayA swap or pickup with no day yet, or the customer asked for one
OverdueOn site past the planned pickup day
Due for pickupPickup today or in the next two days
On siteEvery dumpster at a customer's
To closePicked up, waiting for the final bill

Open a rental to see its stops, extra charges, dump tickets and tons, and its bills. From there:

  • Book a swap or Book the pickup, with a day (or "Not yet") and a driver.
  • Extend it a few days.
  • Add a charge (a mattress, tires, overfilled).
  • Close and bill after pickup: ServFlo counts the days and tons and makes the final bill, which opens so you can send it or take payment.
  • Cancel rental before drop-off.

Projects

Projects lists every open project with its status, the phase under way or next, late phases and, for owners and admins, Over budget. Tap New project to start one from a template with the customer, job site and start date.

Open a project to:

  • See the phases and tap one to change its dates, status, crew (and lead) or subcontractor. Changing dates moves the phases after it too, unless you turn that off.
  • Shift the schedule a few working days later or earlier (rain, a late permit). Every phase not done moves, and the crews' phones are told.
  • See the money: contract, approved changes, billed and paid, and budget vs actual with the projected margin (owners and admins).
  • Work on change orders: price a crew's draft, send it to the customer, or record their yes or no.
  • Make draw invoices: set up draws (Deposit 30%, Midway 40%, Completion 30%), invoice the next one, a percent, or the final invoice, then send it or take payment.
  • Read the daily logs.

Daily logs (from Projects or More) shows every crew's logs and photos, newest first, so you can review the day from anywhere.

If you also drive or work on the crew

You don't switch apps or modes. With office mode you keep your own work:

  • Today shows your jobs today with My day, and My projects when you are on a crew.
  • On a rental or a job that is one of your stops, tap Open my job to finish the stop, enter the dump ticket or fill in the job. These work without signal, like any driver's.
  • My projects opens your crew screen: daily log, photos, time and phase status, also without signal.
  • More → My hours has your time.
