Phone usage and billing
What the phone system and AI receptionist add-ons include, how usage is billed and what happens when you remove them.
What's included
- Phone system add-on: on any plan. It includes one local number besides your texting number, which is included on every plan.
- AI receptionist add-on: on any plan, together with the phone system. Its AI model use counts against your plan's AI credits.
For current prices, see Settings → Billing → Add-ons. Only the owner can add or remove add-ons, and adding one asks you to accept its usage rates first.
Usage billed with your subscription
Usage is billed monthly, after the fact, at the carrier's cost + 20%:
- extra numbers;
- call minutes, inbound and outbound;
- call recording and transcription minutes;
- AI receptionist minutes (speech and voice).
Texts aren't billed here: they count against your plan's texts.
See this month's usage
Go to Settings → Phone and look at Phone usage. It shows this month's usage and an estimate per category (Calls, Numbers, Texts, Recordings, Transcriptions, Texting registration, Other), what's been billed so far and the total. The last couple of days are an estimate until the carrier settles them.
Free trial
The free trial includes the phone system and the AI receptionist within limits: one number, 100 call minutes and 30 AI receptionist minutes. Numbers and calls start once a card is on file. When you reach a limit, that feature pauses with a message until you subscribe.
If you remove the phone system
- Your call log, numbers and reports stay readable.
- Numbers other than your texting number are released 30 days later. ServFlo warns you right away and again 7 days before, and the numbers show Released on with the date. Adding the add-on back cancels the releases.
- Your texting number stays, because texting is part of every plan.
If your subscription is unpaid, calls and texts pause until it's paid. If it's cancelled, your phone account closes 30 days later and its numbers are released.
