Invoices & payments

Invoices & payments

Bill your customers, get paid online or in person, and keep track of every payment.

ServFlo takes you from finished work to money in the bank. You create an invoice from a job or a quote, send it by email or text, and the customer pays online by card or bank. You can also record cash and checks, take a card over the phone, and send reminders when a bill is late.

Invoices and payments live under Billing → Invoices and Billing → Payments. Each customer's page also lists their invoices, payments and balance.

Key ideas

  • Invoice statuses. Every invoice is Draft, Sent, Paid, Overdue or Cancelled. An invoice that has received some money but not all shows Partially paid beside its status.
  • Balance due. The invoice total less what's been paid. ServFlo updates it with every payment and refund, and marks the invoice Paid when it reaches zero.
  • Online payments. Customers pay on a secure Stripe page, straight to your own Stripe account. ServFlo takes no fee on payments. Stripe's own processing fees apply.
  • Recorded payments. Cash, checks and other payments you receive yourself. Recording a payment never charges anyone.
  • Tips. Customers can add a tip. Tips never reduce the balance and are reported apart from revenue.
  • Deposits. Deposits collected on a quote move onto its invoice automatically. See Ask for a deposit.
