Budget vs actual
Track what the project should cost by category, what it has cost, and the projected margin.
The Budget tab lists what the project should cost, by category: Labor, Materials, Subcontractors, Equipment and Other. A line can be for one phase.
Where actual costs come from
| Category | Actual cost |

| Labor | Time on the job × each technician's labor cost |
| Materials | Materials used on the job and what purchase orders received for it |
| Subcontractors | Subcontractor bills on the project |
| Equipment | Expenses whose category says equipment, rental, tool or dumpster |
| Other | Every other expense |
The projected margin
For each category, ServFlo expects the project to cost its budget, or what it has already cost once it is over budget. The projected margin is the contract (with approved change orders) minus that projected cost.
Budgets, costs and margins are shown to owners and admins only.
