Business units
Units on jobs, quotes and invoices
How jobs, quotes, invoices, memberships and requests get their business unit, how to change it, and where units show in lists and reports.
Jobs, quotes, invoices, memberships, requests and campaigns each belong to a unit (or none). On their forms, the Business unit choice is Automatic by default.
What Automatic picks
| Record | Unit, first that applies |
|---|---|
| Job | The request, quote or membership it came from; then the service type's unit; then the technician's home unit |
| Request | The service type's unit |
| Quote | The request's unit; then the first service line's unit; then your home unit |
| Invoice | The quote's, job's or membership's unit. A combined invoice across units has none. |
| Membership | The seller's home unit |
| Campaign | None. Set it yourself for reporting; it doesn't narrow who receives it. |
Retired units are skipped. To change a record's unit, pick another under Business unit, or No unit.
Where units show
- Invoices and quotes show the unit's logo, phone, email and footer.
- Lists of jobs, quotes, invoices, requests, memberships and campaigns, and the Dispatch board, have a Business unit filter.
- Reports (revenue by unit, accounts receivable, technician performance, profitability, memberships and payroll hours) can be filtered by unit.
- QuickBooks or Xero get the unit's class, location or tracking option on its invoices.
